Oxymora

Hi again! I am really sorry that I haven’t uploaded, but I have not been having fun either. I got bit by a mosquito right on the bottom of my foot(Do not ask me how it got there) And I haven’t been able to walk for the past few days because my bites turn into massive mounds of swollen flesh. Anyways… I was reading a book with sooo many oxymora in it and it got me thinking that these could be really powerful. So I wrote a poem with an oxymoron in every line.

Her absent presence rings loud
Bringing back bittersweet memories
The space without her filled to the brim
With a now comforting misery

Her open secret tightly locked
Behind loosely sealed lips
With a sad smile she turned her back
Gone was her bright eclipse

And now all of my sweet sorrow
Is released with a silent scream
I walk into the transparent night
Letting go of this nightmarish dream

5 feet under

Hi! It’s my 13th birthday today and I am soo happy! I’m a teenager! So this post is a bit different from my normal posts, But it is still a post! This was to show that is person isn’t really dead, but almost. Being 6 feet under means that you are dead and gone, so 5 feet would mean close. When you fear death too much, you stop living. I thought this would be a good metaphor for this particular idea.
I hope you enjoy!

5 feet under
And I’m
Slowly sinking down
5 feet under
This is
A place for me to drown
In my tears
In my fears
In this violent silence
And I’m
Slowly sinking down
Until
I’m 5 feet under
And
Buried under thoughts and curses
I’m 5 feet under
And I’m
Struggling to survive
In this ocean full of shards
Of this frightful foul future
Rescue me
Pull me out
Cause I’m already
5 feet underground

The nature of evil

Hi! So this is another result of my brainstorming session with Emma. We wanted to write something about nature’s ugly side. I feel like nature always has a halo when described in writing, but the truth is that nature can be evil as well. It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

Poison petals sharp as glass
Cut through your probing palm
Lethal leaves come falling down
From trees of deadly calm

Rays of sun slice through your skin
Burn whatever’s left inside
Vines twist and turn and bind you
Groping to cut short your stride

So finally you go running
Into mother nature’s warm embrace
All you find in place of her
Is a loud slap in the face
