For our sake

Written with a prompt I found online. It’s soooo pretty! Also, I may upgrade the blog, which would mean that you guys get audio recordings of my songs with the lyrics and chords, which would probably be a lot less annoying, so, fingers crossed!

The last hurrah

Okay. This song is basically me thinking about what it would be like to let people down . It sounds stupid, but I made a very pretty song about it. I’m just a freshman in high school, so it’s not really a problem now, but I feel it looming ahead. Anyways… here!

G
We were young and we were free
Em
Thought we could be what we wanted to be
C
Thought we could choose
D
Nothing to lose

G
We’d spend our time skipping through the grass
Em
Ignored the sand in the hourglass
C
We spent our days
D
In a rosy haze

C
And here we are the last hurrah
G
The one we’ve waited for
D
The one where all our dreams they turn
G
To dust
C
And here we are with the ones
G
Who’ve waited for so long
D
So put away our hopes and let
G
Them rust

G
Now we’re grown up and our eyes are clear
Em
Now we know we don’t get another year
C
You know best
D
You just lead the rest

G
Now I can see I’m just another pawn
Em
In a sea of never ever being wrong
C
Oh I confess
D
I can’t be the best

C
And here we are the last hurrah
G
The one we’ve waited for
D
The one where all our dreams they turn
G
To dust
C
And here we are with the ones
G
Who’ve waited for so long
D
So put away our hopes and let
G
Them rust

C
It was just a pipe dream
Em
One I would feed
Am
One I would let to hold me
D
And rock me to sleep

C
And here we are the last hurrah
G
The one we’ve waited for
D
The one where all our dreams they turn
G
To dust
c
And here we are with the ones
G
Who’ve waited for so long
D
So put away our hopes and let
G
Them rust

I am

My inspiration for this post was really simple. I was on Pinterest and I stumbled upon a Ravenclaw aesthetics post. I found them all so heartwarming and beautiful that I decided to write my own. This isn’t exclusively Ravenclaw aesthetics, but I am a Ravenclaw, so I suppose it could be interpreted that way. Without further ado, here’s me.

I am long walks to clear my head after a heated argument.

I am scribbled journal entries written in pen, scratched out because I did NOT think this through, and then making the same mistakes over again.

I am loud guffaws of laughter slipping between my lips at 2:00, quickly covered up by a girl who fears having company at night.

I am fingers a string away from bleeding, but I keep going because my guitar will help me write another song and I need to get it out.

I am tear drops on the last pages of a book, crying for characters who never existed.

I am scribbled notes up and down my left arm, hoping I don’t forget and wash them away.

I am romanticizing snow as it flutters down, and then cursing when it soaks through my boots.

I am burning eyes at 3:00 am, but pushing through the pain telling myself the lie of just one more chapter.

I am slight mutterings under my breath, correcting people who never wanted to be corrected, annoying them beyond belief.

I am crumpled pieces of paper, tossed towards the trash can blindly after being reminded of my lack of artistic ability.

I am the song that I sing for days, driving everyone insane, but I’ll keep singing, because the song means something to me right then.

I am becoming lost in my novel for hours, only to be jolted out of my stupor by a growling stomach.

I am.
